Maggie Norris started Whisked Away after years in both the culinary industry and appliance sales. Her interest in cooking began at a very early age helping out with her mother’s catering business. After graduating from Vanderbilt University in 1998, a career in culinary arts was the furthest thing from her mind. It wasn’t until she was given cooking classes as a gift that her interest was rekindled and she was soon enrolled at Scottsdale Culinary Institute.

Maggie graduated at the top of her class and left Phoenix to work at the Food Network in New York. She worked with Mario Batali, Emeril, Gale Gand, Sara Moulton, Kat Cora, Rocco Dispirito and many more well-known chefs. Maggie returned to Phoenix and started teaching right away. She was also the regional Chef for Dacor Appliance Brand.

This led her into appliance sales where she learned about top residential brands such as Viking, Wolf and Dacor. In 2009, a group of neighbors asked Maggie to do a cooking class for them from her home and Whisked Away Cooking School was born! Two years later, she left her sales job to work on Whisked Away full time. Since then, Maggie spent 7 summers taking student to Europe to cook, she is a regular on the morning lifestyle show Your Life Arizona, she teaches demo-cooking classes at the Village at Gainey Ranch and she runs a kids’ cooking camp in the summer. Best of all, Whisked Away is the top-rated cooking school in Arizona!

Whisked Away is a dream come true for Maggie. It is her way of sharing her passion and she hopes you will join her in the fun!
